I am requesting a grant to help fund my purchase from Bob Green of a six-string bass viol made by John Pringle in 2016 (Addison model).

I plan to pay for the other $2000 by teaching cello lessons and playing cello gigs.
Qualifications:
I’ve been taking viol lessons from John Moran for the past 2 years. I went to the Young Player’s Weekend in 2022, Conclave in 2023, and a number of consort music get-togethers. I would love to play gamba at a professional level and having my own instrument is a crucial step in that process. I am the Founder/Director of the nonprofit StringTime, a beginner strings camp for kids ages 7-12, and would love to eventually host an intro-to-the-gamba camp for kids. I also like to make mini videos about my musical adventures on my Instagram page and would like to incorporate some viol videos (and tag @vdgsa). In order for me to do all of this, I need to have my own instrument.
