Project Description:
I am a 69-year-old former cellist, now learning bass viol. I'm a VdGSA member, and I'm studying with Fritz Reinagel in NC, and have worked with Alison Crum on several occasions. In lieu of paying Fritz for lessons, I donate to VdGSA. I'm currently renting a viol from VdGSA.
I'm looking to attend the Mountain Collegium in western NC in July (https://mountaincollegium.org/mc2024/). Tuition is $680, and alas, I'm a North Carolina school teacher (47th in the country for teacher pay), and that's way out of my budget. I'm looking for $500 in support, I cover the rest and room/board expenses for the workshop.

Budget and Additional Funding:
I will contribute $180 towards tuition, and cover the $500 room/board fee as well. The VdGSA scholarship will be used directly towards the $680 tuition fee.
Qualifications:
New player, probably at the advanced beginner stage, still working on technique. I have recently started playing with Fritz's weekly consort group, and I attend the local group session once a month in Chapel Hill. I have been renting for several years, but have only started active lessons in the past year.
