Project Description:
This Grant in Aid is for a day of training with the luthier Sara Peck. In South Florida, we do not have a luthier with viol experience. Over the years I have tried to help the area viols that have had minor repairs and have helped Kathleen Merfeld with the loaner viols at Conclaves and rental instruments that she has. I would like training in peg adjustments, sound post setting, bridge feet fitting and wolf tone minimization. This would help me, the area members of the VdGSA and the VdGSA as a whole.
Request Amount:

Total Project Cost:
$
500
Budget and Additional Funding:
This $500 is only for transportation. The cost of training by Sara Peck is contingent upon approval of Motomi Igarashi's Grant in Aid which covers the training expenses. My travel expenses would occur only if Motomi's grant is funded. I will pay for all other expenses that occur.
Qualifications:
I first started playing the viol in the 1980's with Marjorie Bram as my first teacher. I attended workshops and when i moved to Miami in 1995 I started to get more involved in the viol activities in the area. I try to attend Conclave or at least a week long workshop every year and have actively participated in our Circuit Rider Program since its inception.
